Echinacea is a flower native to North America, which has been used as a common herbal remedy by Native American Tribes for treating and preventing colds, flu and infections. In Europe, echinacea preparations are primarily used to stimulate the immune system and "help the body resist common cold infections affecting the throat and nasal passages."
